Show Us Your Life- Hair and Beauty Tips- Threading

Today, I'm linking up to Kelly's Corner, where she does a weekly Show Us Your Life post.  This week's theme was hair and beauty tips.
At first, I didn't think I really wanted to do this one because, well, let's face it, I'm a very low maintenance girl.  I don't wear makeup on a daily basis and my hair can be found in a pony tail 6 days out of 7.  But then I thought to myself, there is one thing that I think more women should know about.
Threading.
What is threading, you ask.  It's a hair removal technique that I think every woman should try if they spend any time tweezing, waxing or bleaching hair on their face.  It uses cotton thread to remove hair at the follicle.  Most common is eyebrow threading but you can also have your upper lip, chin or even entire face done.
I get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded every 4-6 weeks.  It makes me feel so much less frumpy just to have them shaped and no lip hairs.  It makes a big enough difference that even my husband can tell when I have had it done.
It is similar to waxing in that it removes a lot of hair at once however it uses no chemicals or wax.  The hair is pulled out.  Yes, it can hurt.  I find that my eyebrows don't really hurt but oh boy does my upper lip.  But it is so worth it.
So, go find a place and get it done.  You'll be glad you did.

  1. I've never tried threading but the last time I was at the mall they had a booth. Thanks for the suggestion! I might just try it out.

  2. I have been wondering about threading... I saw some ladies doing it at the mall, but didn't like that they were doing it out in front of all the people walking by! Maybe I can find a salon that does it in private. Don't want everyone to know I need my upper lip hair removed! :-)

  3. Sasha, I know what you mean! The place I get it done at is in a salon but the salon is wide open to the mall. But it is still so worth it. Go to mall where you are less likely to run into anyone you know LOL

  6. My boss does threading and I've always been SO scared to try it... but perhaps now is the time. I stay so red after waxing and I need something gentler :)
